Jessica moved to the St. Johns area in the 8th grade and has been a part of FCC from the very beginning. She attended Switzerland Point Middle School and met her future husband, Ryan, as a freshman at Bartram Trail High School.

Jessica first sensed a calling to vocational ministry at the age of nine and has been a leader at FCC since she was a teenager. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Bible/Theology from Nazarene Bible College and served as FCC’s youth pastor for 2.5 years before moving to Nashville to study counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University. She and Ryan returned to the St. John’s area in 2013 before the birth of their son Isaac. In 2015 she came back on staff at FCC as the Discipleship Pastor and was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene two years later.

Jessica is passionate about making disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. She has spent years studying Jesus’ methods for doing this and is continually experimenting with innovative ways to replicate the discipleship ministry of Jesus in her current cultural context. Because of this, she values a more intensive, individualized approach to discipleship that takes place in the context of an extended spiritual family on a shared mission.

Ryan and Jessica both own their own small businesses that serve as vehicles for ministering to their community outside the walls of the church. Ryan runs the 210 School of Music ( out of their home in St. Johns and Jessica owns where she designs and officiates highly customized wedding ceremonies for couples who do not have a pastor or church home.

She is a voracious reader, podcast listener, and Goodwill shopper. In their free time, you are likely to find Ryan and Jessica playing board games with their neighbors and housemate or enjoying coffee and live music (preferably at the same time).
